Newcastle United fans were treated to a reminder of legendary striker Alan Shearer’s 250th Premier League goal for the club via a recent Twitter post from the official Premier League.
Back in 2005, the Englishman struck against Manchester City to give the Magpies a 0-1 lead, before the hosts eventually managed to score and rescue a point from the game.

It was a classic Shearer finish; the hitman putting his boot right through it to beat David James with pure power at his near post.
A perhaps underrated aspect of the goal though was defender Titus Bramble’s involvement.
It was his raking cross-field pass that allowed Shearer to break clear of the defence before his finish.
Bramble was a player who often struggled to convince during his playing days.

While he had the potential to put in solid performances from time to time, he routinely made mistakes and was sometimes exposed for his lack of pace – leading to the unwanted nickname of ‘Titus Shambles’ from neutrals.
But clearly he had an eye for a pass though, as he demonstrated with his fine assist for Shearer back in 2005.

Many had forgotten about Bramble’s fantastic ball, and some fans were astounded to see such a flash of quality from their former player:
