The Premier League fixture list for the 2019/20 season is out, raising the excitement levels among fans ahead of the new campaign.
But for Newcastle United supporters, the situation is slightly different. Uncertainty remains about whether Rafa Benitez will be the club’s manager next term and whether the club will be taken over.
All of that impacts on other areas of the club – specifically recruitment of new players and keeping their own top talent – and creates a familiar feeling of unrest and uncertainty for the fanbase.
So while the Magpies could be forgiven if they didn’t give the fixture announcement much credence, one of their former players seemed more excited about it as he embarked on a return to the Premier League.

Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul was Daniel Farke’s number one choice as the Canaries were promoted back to the top flight as champions, and Newcastle travel to Carrow Road on the second weekend of the season.
He took to Twitter to mention the matches against European champions Liverpool and his old club on the first two weeks of the season, and Newcastle fans loved it…
