Newcastle United are being linked with a move for free agent Ryan Fraser – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter believe he would be a good signing for them.
The Shields Gazette reports that the Scotland international has been a long-term target back when Rafael Benitez was in charge and current manager Steve Bruce is a big fan of his.
It is understood that the Magpies are still looking to conduct business despite a failed Saudi takeover and are in discussions with the 26-year-old.
The report explains that Newcastle are in the race to sign him alongside Premier League rivals West Ham and Crystal Palace.
Fraser is now a free agent after leaving Bournemouth, who have suffered a relegation from the English top-flight and could have a very different side going into the Championship next season.
He is a skilful left-winger with plenty of pace and would be another exciting wide player at St James’ Park alongside current options Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron.
Fraser made 208 appearances during his seven-year Bournemouth career, scoring 24 goals and supplying 33 assists in return.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media are convinced that the ex-Bournemouth man would be a shrewd piece of business by them and would like to see discussions lead to a transfer.
