Newcastle fans react to report linking Ayoze Perez and Florian Lejeune to Sevilla

Newcastle first-teamers Ayoze Perez and Florian Lejeune are both on the radar of La Liga club Sevilla, according to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo.

They report that the Spanish club’s general director Monchi is heading to England this week and he has the Magpies duo firmly in his sights.

Lejeune is currently injured – which may make a switch unlikely – but the report says that Sevilla have tried to sign him for the past two summers and will swoop again this summer.

Meanwhile, Perez has been linked with a return to his homeland, and Sevilla could offer the chance to play in next season’s Europa League.

While confusion reigns at Newcastle in terms of Rafa Benitez’s future and any potential takeover, perhaps the futures of individual players is placed on the back burner – not least because it’s tough to decipher who Monchi would even negotiate with.

But enough Magpies fans took to Twitter to fume over the report and it did nothing to ease the worries of many of them who are already fearing the worst ahead of the coming season…
