Newcastle fans react to Matty Longstaff’s debut goal against Manchester United

Newcastle United bounced back in style from their 5-0 thumping at the hands of Leicester City last weekend with a deserved victory over Manchester United yesterday.

With Steve Bruce looking for a response from his side, he fielded local boys and brothers Sean and Matty Longstaff alongside each other in the heart of midfield, with the latter making his Premier League debut.

They simply had too much for a dire visiting midfield and when Matty burst into space and hammered the winning goal home from the edge of the box, he capped a very impressive debut.

It was just the tonic the club needed and showed that the players are united and fighting for the badge, with nobody epitomising that more than the Longstaffs.

Naturally, the supporters on Twitter absolutely loved the youngster’s performance and goal, having seen more than their fair share of players not give their all for the shirt in recent years.

It was a hugely important win and eased the pressure that had been building, as well as propelling the Magpies out of the relegation zone going into the international break.
