Newcastle fans react to Martin Dubravka’s tweet after Rafa Benitez announcement

Newcastle fans have had the worst news they could have got this summer with the departure of Rafa Benitez set to happen on Sunday.

That has stuck a dagger through the heart of any of their summer plans, with the search for a new manager further delaying transfer plots already hamstrung by an inflexible policy and a lack of investment.

The fans are likely to be reeling and one of the players, Martin Dubravka took to Twitter to thank Benitez for everything he did for the club during his time at St James’ Park.

He wrote: “Thank you for everything gaffer, for opportunity to work with you, for all of your advice, it’s been a pleasure and I am going to miss it! Wish you all the best…”

And Dubravka had the backing of the Newcastle fans who took to Twitter to support the goalkeeper, with many expecting him to follow Benitez out of the door given the lack of investment at the club.

That would be another hammer blow but nothing can be ruled out for as long as Mike Ashley is at the helm and the club is going nowhere…
