Newcastle Untied midfielder Sean Longstaff is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by stating there is no chance he will exit St James’ Park.
According to Sky Sports, English giants Manchester United are eyeing a potential swoop for the 21-year-old.
The report details that there has been no approach as of yet and the Magpies insist their prized asset is not for sale.
Longstaff has made his dream a reality this season by becoming a first-team player for his boyhood club and has done it after coming through the academy ranks.
He’s missed the last couple of months of the season through injury, but became a key player for the senior team in the New Year.
The central midfielder has made just 13 appearances at senior level for Newcastle, but shown he’s extremely composed on the ball and looked a calming influence in the centre of the park alongside Mohamed Diame.
A selection of Newcastle fans on social media are convinced that Longstaff won’t leave in the summer and that his long-term future is with them.
His current deal doesn’t expire until 2022 and it would surely take a sizeable offer to sign him.
Here are some Newcastle fans discussing interest in Longstaff:
Nice round number of £150million…and throw in Rashford.
