A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments made by Arsenal loanee Joe Willock concerning his future beyond this season – which have been reported by The Sun.
Willock has been a shining light since arriving on Tyneside. The 21-year-old has six starts in the Premier League, scoring once in Steve Bruce’s side’s victory over Southampton.

It is not yet clear what Mikel Arteta’s plans for Willock may be. He was struggling to get into the Gunners side before his departure at the end of the January transfer window.
But Willock appears to have hinted that he would be open to staying at St James’ Park beyond his loan if the chance presented itself this summer.
“I love playing for Newcastle,” he said, as reported by The Sun. “When I first came here, I was a bit apprehensive of how I would take to it because I’d never left Arsenal.

“I’d been at Arsenal since I was four and a half, so coming to a new club, coming up north to Newcastle was a bit scary.
“But as I came here and settled in and saw the love from the fans that I’m receiving, of course I’d love to continue playing here.”
Of course, much will depend on how the rest of Newcastle’s season plays out. The Magpies find themselves in a precarious position, and they have not won any of their last five.
Relegation to the Championship would surely end almost all of their hopes of keeping Willock in any capacity. But plenty of fans would clearly love to see the young midfielder stay.
Many have been hugely impressed by his performances since joining on loan. And they have suggested that he should be a priority for next season should they stay up.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Newcastle fans have reacted to the reports…
