Newcastle fans react on Twitter to Jordon Ibe interest reports

A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Sunday Mirror (30/8; page 67) suggesting that the Magpies are interested in Jordon Ibe.

The Toon Army have had to endure a frustrating summer thus far. Jeff Hendrick on a free transfer is their most notable piece of business at this point.

The Sunday Mirror (30/8; page 67) reports that the Magpies are keen on Ibe, but they face competition from Crystal Palace.

Ibe is available on a free transfer after his Bournemouth contract expired this summer. And it is suggested by the report that his Premier League experience appeals to his admirers.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the reports have not gone down particularly well amongst the fans. Several have taken to social media to suggest that they do not want Steve Bruce to sign the 24-year-old.

The winger barely featured for the Cherries last season. And it is surely fair to say that he did not live up to expectations during his time at the Vitality Stadium.

In fairness, plenty of Newcastle fans have suggested that they would like to see a former Bournemouth winger join the club on a free transfer this summer.

However, it is Ryan Fraser they have backed a move for, rather than Ibe.
