Newcastle fans react on Twitter to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth exit

A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Eddie Howe has left Bournemouth, with plenty suggesting that they would love to see the Englishman at St James’ Park.

Howe’s departure was announced over the weekend following the Cherries’ relegation from the Premier League.

Howe had taken the club right through the leagues during his two spells in charge. And, while his tenure ultimately ended in hugely disappointing fashion, it appears that his stock remains high.

In fact, many Newcastle supporters reacted to the announcement by imploring their club to make a move for the 42-year-old.

Steve Bruce did a very good job on Tyneside this past season. Newcastle finished 13th in the table despite plenty tipping the Magpies to be involved in a relegation scrap in the wake of Rafa Benitez’s departure.

In truth, Newcastle stayed up comfortably. They finished the campaign with one win in nine in all competitions and still finished 10 points clear of the bottom three.

Interestingly, that win came against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Nevertheless, plenty still feel that Howe is the right man to take the club forward.

In fairness, the football under Bruce was often underwhelming. And some Newcastle fans clearly feel that Howe’s availability provides an opportunity too good to pass up.

Here is how some of the Newcastle fans reacted to the announcement of Howe’s exit…
