Newcastle Untied are reportedly interested in Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are not pleased about the speculation.

According to The World Game, the Magpies are in a competitive race to try sign the 28-year-old this summer.

It is understood that Newcastle are battling the likes of West Ham, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Watford, Southampton and Leicester City for his signature.

The report also adds that it could take £14.8million to sign the Australia international.

Mooy is a central midfielder that couldn’t keep Huddersfield in the Premier League this season and is heading for Championship football.

But his displays in the top flight have not gone unnoticed and there is interest in him.

He is a box-to-box midfielder with an eye for goal and a creative spark, making him one of Huddersfield’s best players.

A selection of Newcastle fans on social media aren’t convinced he is the right man to bring to St James’ Park and want to be a lot more ambitious amid speculation about a potential takeover.

They feel that Jonjo Shelvey should be kept around the squad and that the Huddersfield ace would hardly be an upgrade.

Here are some Newcastle fans responding to the Mooy reports:
