Newcastle fans react as Salomon Rondon opens door to St. James’ return
Newcastle United fans have been reacting to comments made by Salomon Rondon that he would be open to a return to St. James’ Park.
The Venezuelan striker spent the 2018/19 season on loan with the Magpies from West Bromwich Albion, and was a big hit with the fans.
Rondon scored 12 goals in 33 appearances for the club, and also made seven assists.

It was a struggle of a season for Newcastle, but Rondon was consistently a menace up to for the club and played a big role in keeping them in the Premier League, along with Ayoze Perez.
Supporters were left aghast when it transpired Mike Ashley would not pay the reported £16.5 million to sign the player permanently.
He then facilitated a move to Dalian Yifang of the Chinese Super League, where he plays under former Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez.
He’s had a fruitful period in the Far East so far, scoring 14 goals in 25 appearances for his current team.
But one wonders how long he’ll play for Dalian given his latest comments. Although the reported £150,000-a-week contract he’s on must be nice (Express & Star).

He told the Guardian: “If, in January, I had a chance to sign again for Newcastle I would do it for sure because they gave me a lot and I felt so much when I was at St James.”
Newcastle, of course, have signed Callum Wilson for their attack, but that doesn’t mean some Newcastle supporters on social media don’t want to see the return of Rondon.
Many fans were delighted to hear the South American would be open to coming back:
