Newcastle fans react as report links club with Celtic defender Ajer

Newcastle fans have taken to social media to react to the news that the Toon are interested in signing Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer this summer, with the Norweigian international in the final year of his contract with the Scottish giants.

The Daily Mail report that the Premier League side are said to go ahead with a move for the Celtic star, who could leave the club for as little as £8m, with Norwich City also said to be interested in the 23-year-old centre-back as well as AC Milan and OGC Nice as reported by Goal.

Ajer is widely expected to leave Celtic this summer after five years with the Hoops, and for Newcastle supporters on social media, they were eager for the club to make an approach for the defender, who is a well-recognised name from his time in Scotland with the Glaswegian side.
