Newcastle United are being linked with a January transfer window move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos – and many Toon fans are desperate to see the Colombia international signed by Steve Bruce next month.
A report from The Northern Echo has seemingly suggested that Newcastle want Morelos in January, as he continues his stunning goalscoring rate of 28 goals in 35 games for Rangers this season – 14 of which have come in 14 Europa League games.
Morelos was crucial to Rangers’ excellent Old Firm win over Celtic on Sunday, which sees the Gers go within two points of Neil Lennon’s side in the Scottish Premiership table, and boast a game in hand. His Celtic voodoo, though, will continue.

The Colombian has failed to score against Celtic in 12 matches, and missed a golden chance on Sunday as blazed over the bar from six yards out. However, his superb form has not gone unnoticed and Newcastle are supposedly keen to sign him.
However, Steven Gerrard has stated that not even a bid of £50million would see Rangers sell him next month. Asked if he would take £40million for Morelos, Gerrard told the Record: “No – and you can add another £10m on as well.”
Despite that, Newcastle are said to be keen with Joelinton scoring just one goal for Newcastle since his £40million move from Hoffenheim. Andy Carroll has also failed to score on his return, and Toon fans are desperate to see Morelos at St. James’ Park.
