Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to a report that has claimed Martin Dubravka has suffered an injury setback.
According to the Times, the stopper’s heel has not healed as well as club medics had hoped.
It had been hoped that Dubravka would have been close to a return, but apparently it will now be around December time when he comes back into the picture.
This is the first injury problem the £38,000-a-week Slovakian international (Spotrac) has had at the club since joining on an initial loan in 2018.
Thankfully for the Magpies, Karl Darlow has been in good form for the club while Dubravka has been on the sidelines.
The 30-year-old has only kept one clean sheet, but he really has excelled between the sticks at times so far in 2020/21 – his performance against Tottenham Hotspur recently a particular highlight.
On social media, although there was some disappointment over the Dubravka development, some Newcastle fans were surprisingly upbeat as a result of Darlow’s fine form of late:

Best not to rush his recovery, Darlow is in fine form too

Hope that Darlow can keep up with his form

Darlow has done well but i would say he has been “unreal” like some folk are saying. Dubravka is a cut above most keepers in the league and is a massive miss.
