Joelinton led the line for Newcastle United against Chelsea on Saturday but failed to find the net again.
Since his club-record move from Hoffenheim to Newcastle, the striker has only scored one goal. That was the winner against Tottenham Hotspur but he has not built upon that strike.
Joelinton was tasked with replacing Salomon Rondon as Newcastle’s first-choice striker. Rondon was a popular choice for the Geordies but he headed to China instead as Newcastle looked at alternative options.

After a long search, Newcastle snapped up Joelinton from Hoffenheim. The 23-year-old had scored 11 goals in 36 games for the Bundesliga club but Newcastle scouts had seen enough to spend a lot of money on him.
So far, he has not lived up to expectations. Newcastle need an experienced striker to lead the line and Joelinton just hasn’t been good enough. The service into the Brazilian forward could be better but his all-round game needs some work.
Here are some Newcastle fans discussing Joelinton’s performance after he drew a blank against Chelsea.
