Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard has reportedly rejected an approach from Newcastle United – and some Magpies fans on Twitter have responded by claiming they don’t blame him for dodging a move to St James’ Park.
According to Sky Sports, Lingard has rejected approaches from both Newcastle and West Brom to sign him on loan this month.
The report explains that the 28-year-old will instead be heading to the London Stadium, as a short-term loan deal has been agreed between Manchester United and Premier League rivals West Ham.
It is explained that he’s set to have have his medical in Manchester ahead of his switch to West Ham.
Lingard is a versatile player that can be used in either wide attacking roles or in more central positions.
The 24-time capped England internatonal has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and made just three appearances all season, which all came in cup competitions.
He’s now on the brink of leaving on loan and will join an in-form West Ham team have European ambitions this year.

Steve Bruce’s side are currently sat 16th in the Premier League table six points above the drop zone and have no wins in their last nine league games.
