Newcastle captain is set to be ruled out by injury until early next year after picking up a knee problem against Bournemouth last weekend.
As per the Chronicle, Lascelles left St James’ Park in a brace after the 2-1 comeback win over the Cherries and looks set for two to three months on the sidelines.
They report that the skipper has ligament damage which means Steve Bruce will be without his services until the new year.
But the report also outlined Newcastle’s depth at centre half and that’s one of the reasons the supporters seemed quite relaxed about the news on Twitter.

There are enough issues at Newcastle right now – not least in front of goal, as defenders such as Lascelles have been responsible for the goals lately – but their central defensive depth is not one of them.
That means that Lascelles may not be missed as much as he could have been, and the likes of Fabian Schar and Ciaran Clark will get a greater chance to impress during the festive period.
