David Silva produced a stunning display as Manchester City eased past Newcastle United with a 5-0 win as the pocket-sized Spaniard scored one and created two more – and Toon fans have reacted on Twitter.
Silva, 34, is set to leave Manchester City this summer on a free transfer after 10 years at the club – clocking up a whopping 430 appearances in all competitions and winning four Premier League titles.
The World Cup winner has scored 76 goals for City – his latest coming in the form of a stunning free-kick against the Toon on Wednesday night that left goalkeeper Martin Dubravka completely helpless.

He also created two goals as Pep Guardiola’s side bounced back from a 1-0 defeat against Southampton to beat Newcastle 5-0. Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and an own goal rounded off the win.
Silva is being linked with a return to his home country, the MLS or the Middle East. Even David Beckham’s Inter Miami have been suggested as a possible suitor for the ex-Valencia playmaker ahead of the summer window.
But with Newcastle reportedly set to complete a takeover soon, many Toon fans have drooled over the Spanish ace and some have even considered signing him – if a takeover does go through.
