Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a report that Nice have halved their asking price for Wylan Cyprien.
Cyprien was initially valued at €20 million/£18 million at the start of the summer by sporting director Julian Fournier, but he is supposedly now on the market for €10 million/£9 million.
Newcastle would supposedly be keen to do a deal if that price drops further.
Cyprien is a player that has been linked with Newcastle several times in the past.
For one reason or another the Magpies have never properly pursued the former French U21 international.
But it could be a case of watch this space now, with Nice clearly needing to lower their demands or risk losing the player for nothing.
Cyprien is a player that make a great deal of difference to Newcastle’s midfield, which was criticised for its performance against Brighton at the weekend.
The star can perform a number of different roles, but appears to be a very good ball-carrying box-to-box type.
Amid the claims he is going cheap, Newcastle fans demanded on social media he be signed:

I doubt that it’s true; but Cyprien is a solid player if it does come about.
