Newcastle United have reportedly added Marseille manager Andre Villas-Boas to their summer shortlist of potential replacements for Steve Bruce – and Toon supporters have reacted on Twitter.

French outlet Foot Mercato have claimed that Newcastle have shortlisted 42-year-old Villas-Boas, who has previously managed both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea – clocking up 120 matches as a manager in English football.

Despite somewhat failing overall at both sides, Portuguese gaffer Villas-Boas has since starred in France and Russia – after previously winning the league title with Porto before his move to Chelsea.

After winning a league title with Zenit and a brief spell in charge of Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG, Villas-Boas is currently impressing in the dugout at Marseille – taking the French side to second in Ligue 1.

Newcastle have been linked with a number of managers. Mauricio Pochettino, Luciano Spalletti, Lucien Favre, Max Allegri, Rafa Benitez and Jorge Jesus have all been touted as the new man in the hotseat at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their club could lure Villas-Boas to Tyneside this summer, and some are all for the idea of seeing the ex-Spurs and Chelsea man in the north east.
