Newcastle United’s prospective new owners have reportedly made Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale their main priority in the upcoming summer window – and Toon supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news.
Bale, 30, is likely to be linked with an exit this summer as his relationship with Zinedine Zidane and the Real fans continues to remain strained. He managed just 18 appearances in all competitions for Real this season, scoring only three goals.
Spanish newspaper Marca claim Newcastle are interested in Bale with a takeover expected to be announced in the coming days, the former Southampton and Tottenham star could be at the top of their shortlist.

The report states that Real want just £17.5million for Bale, and that the new Toon owners would be able to afford his enormous £285,000 a week. The only obstacle they will have is convincing Bale, who is happy at Real – despite the aforementioned issues.
However, the presence of a Wales teammate may help Newcastle in their bid to land Bale. Dummett told the Chronicle in 2016 that he benefits from training with Bale at international level, and that he is: “One of the best players in the world”.
Newcastle supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their potential new owners could look to raid Madrid for Bale this summer, and many are drooling at the prospect of the winger moving to Tyneside.
