Newcastle fans react as club linked with £50m-rated Bournemouth star

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing AFC Bournemouth winger David Brooks this summer after an excellent 2018-19 campaign – and Toon fans have reacted with excitement.

The Daily Star claim the 21-year-old attacker is a target for Newcastle despite the Wales international being recently valued at £50million by the Mirror – who also claim that Tottenham are interested in the ex-Sheffield United star.

Brooks has been sensational for Bournemouth this season despite it being his first season in the Premier League. The attacker has netted seven goals in 31 outings, as well as creating five assists.

Indeed, Newcastle may need to spend big in order to keep Rafa Benitez. The former Real Madrid manager is in the final few months of his contract at St. James’ Park. In order for him to stay, Newcastle may have to spend big.

Brooks could be the perfect example of that this summer, with a big transfer fee likely to be needed to lure him away from the Vitality Stadium. He cost Bournemouth just £10million last summer.

Newcastle fans reacted on Twitter to the news that their club are reportedly after Brooks. Many fans are desperate to see Brooks put pen to paper on a move to the north east, but a move does seem somewhat unlikely.
