Newcastle United are reportedly battling Aston Villa for the signing of Liverpool sensation Harry Wilson this summer after the Welshman starred in the Championship last season – and Toon fans have reacted on Twitter.
The Daily Mirror claims Newcastle are keen on Wilson, as are newly-promoted Villa despite Liverpool slapping a whopping £25million price tag on the 22-year-old’s head this summer, following his impressive loan at Derby.
Frank Lampard signed Wilson on a season-long loan but immediately moved the Wales international in the centre of midfield, changing him from a fleet-footed wide man into a central playmaker.

The move paid dividends as Derby reached the play-off final with Wilson and Chelsea ace Mason Mount orchestrating things from central midfield. Indeed, Wilson scored an impressive 18 goals – and created six more.
Many were of the belief that Wilson’s form would see him return to Anfield and have a chance of breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s senior side, but that does not seem to be the case – despite having four years left on his contract.
Newcastle fans reacted to the reported news that their club are interested in Wilson despite the enormous eight-figure fee, and many want to see the Welshman put pen to paper on a deal at St. James’ Park.
