Tom Allan has penned a new deal with Newcastle United before completing a loan move to Accrington Stanley – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are excited to see how he does in first-team action away from St James’ Park.

The Magpies confirmed on their official website on Thursday that the attacker has signed a fresh two-year contract with them.

Allan has completed a move to League One club Accrington on the same day on a season-long loan and it’s the academy graduate’s first spell away from Newcastle.

The 20-year-old is an upcoming player that has risen through the club’s youth ranks and he made his senior debut back in January in the FA Cup, which saw him come off the bench and provide an assist for Joelinton in a 4-1 victory over Rochdale.

He is a speedster that usually operates on the right wing and provides real directness to the frontline.

Allan shined in the Newcastle Under-23s team last season, but it will be a real test to see how he steps up to senior action in League One and how he handles the physicality.
