Adam Lallana completed a move to Brighton on Monday as he put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Seagulls following his Liverpool release – and Newcastle United fans have reacted frustratingly.
Lallana, 32, remained at Liverpool beyond the original end of his contract in order to finish the season with Jurgen Klopp’s side and join in the celebrations as the Reds ended a 30-year wait to be crowned as English champions.
A 34-time England international, Lallana has chosen to return to the south coast with Brighton – after previous spells with Southampton and Bournemouth. He has agreed a contract which will keep him at Brighton until 2023.

Back in December, The Telegraph claimed Newcastle were keen on luring Lallana to Tyneside on a free. However, the playmaker has been linked with the majority of the Premier League – given he was available for nothing.
The Toon do have options in attacking midfield, with Miguel Almiron the most obvious number 10 in Steve Bruce’s squad. Yoshinori Muto can drop in, while Jonjo Shelvey has been known to play more advanced.
But on a free transfer, Lallana may have just added a bit of quality to a side that have the potential for goals but need a player to knit everything together. Toon fans are frustrated on Twitter that their side did not go after Lallana.
