Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez has hinted at a summer move away from St James’ Park, according to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, as reported by the Daily Mail.
They report that the Spaniard is considering making a change in his career, after five years in the north east, where he has most recently been one of the few creative influences on an often workmanlike team.
He said: “I believe in career cycles and when one is close to ending you start to plan things, it’s the moment for a change. And probably this is that moment.
“Going back to your country and playing for a big team and being able to enjoy playing La Liga would be a good thing for my career.”

The Daily Mail report that Perez would be valued at £20m by the Magpies, which could provide a stumbling block to a potential move.
But Perez may have grown tired of being in a relegation battle year in year out and there were certainly Newcastle fans on social media who empathised with his state.
They didn’t blame him for seeking a move – especially with the uncertainty over the future of his manager and countryman Rafa Benitez – and we’ve put together the best of the reaction…
