Newcastle fans rave about youngster Tom Allan after his Under-23s performance

Newcastle United’s Under-23s side recorded a draw on Friday afternoon – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left wowed by their standout individual Tom Allan.

Despite going behind on two separate occasions, the Magpies fought back to earn a 2-2 draw against Fulham in the Premier League 2 fixture.

Allan was the decisive figure for Newcastle’s Under-23s with his two-goal performance, which included a second equaliser with a strike from a tight angle.

He is a Newcastle-born attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline, and is often a threat as a skilful wide player.

But in recent matches the 21-year-old has been deployed as the centre-forward, something which worked to great effect today against Fulham.

With Newcastle’s first team just above the relegation places in the Premier League, the mood within the club’s fanbase at St James’ Park is not too pleasant.

There were some that were encouraged though by forward Allan, and they’ve suggested he should even be promoted to the first team after the international break.

He’s made one senior appearance for the Toon, an FA Cup game he assisted in back in January 2020, but it seems highly unlikely he’ll get a chance with the main group during the relegation run-in.
