Leicester City cemented their place inside the top-four of the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win over Newcastle United.

The Foxes were in cruise control and secured the victory thanks to goals from Ayoze Perez, James Maddison and Hamza Choudhury.

Brendan Rodgers has really got Leicester firing and the win at Newcastle came at a canter despite missing Jamie Vardy.

For Steve Bruce, the defeat was a kick in the teeth. It was the club’s third defeat in succession and leaves the team with work to do.

The 26-year-old cost the Foxes £30 million (BBC) and yesterday was his fifth goal for his new club.

Perez also claimed an assist but it was his celebration that left Newcastle fans disgruntled with their former player.

It’s a very modern-day trait that players don’t always celebrate against their former clubs, but Perez was keen to break tradition.

He celebrated in front of the Gallowgate End cupping his hand over his ear to the supporters who booed him throughout.

Following the game, Newcastle fans took to Twitter to comment on Perez’s passionate tweet about the victory:
