Newcastle United earned a point last night in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out attacker Jacob Murphy as a real positive for them.
The Magpies scored in the 94th minute with a Jamaal Lascelles header to rescue a point in the Premier League fixture at St James’ Park.
It looked like Ciaran Clark’s 86th minute own goal would hand the win to visitors Villa, but Newcastle’s captain popped up with a vital stoppage time equaliser.
Steve Bruce’s side will have felt it was a must-win game going into Friday’s match, but to score late on and salvage a point will be some relief.
It means the Toon are 16th in the league tale, but would end up in the relegation zone if both Brighton and Fulham won their weekend games.

A selection of Newcastle fans on social media believe that Murphy was a bright spark yesterday.
The 26-year-old winger was introduced as a late substitute by Bruce, providing more creativity than most players during his short time on the pitch.
It was a fairly dull contest, but Murphy hit the crossbar moments after coming on, and he also assisted Newcastle’s equaliser with a superb cross.
He’s not started in the top flight since late January, but plenty are now demanding he’s back in the XI for the next game against Brighton.
