Newcastle United held Manchester City to a 2-2 draw at St James’ Park in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters praised goalkeeper Martin Dubravka for his performance.
The Magpies put a major dent in the title hopes of Manchester City by holding them to a draw, as they scored late on to snatch an equaliser.
Raheem Sterling had put the visitors in front with his side-footed finish, but defender Jetro Willems fired in an equaliser with his weaker right foot to ensure the teams were locked together at half-time.
Kevin De Bruyne’s stunning long-range effort in the 82nd minute appeared to have given Manchester City the win, but there was a late sting in the tale.
Jonjo Shelvey whipped in an equaliser in the 88th minute from outside the box after a free-kick was pulled back to him.
Steve Bruce’s team once again held their own against one of the top teams in the division and will see it as a big point gained.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media hailed Dubravka as a hero.
The 30-year-old shot-stopper didn’t have the busiest of games considering the opponents and was helped out by his defence.
But he showed great instincts in stoppage time to deny Raheem Sterling, while he also pulled off a double save earlier on to keep his team in the game.
