Newcastle United suffered defeat at home to Leeds United on Tuesday evening – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter praised their defender Fabian Schar for his individual performance.
The Magpies are now on a run of nine games without a win in the Premier League after they were beaten 2-1 by Leeds at St James’ Park.
After an extremely slow start from Newcastle, the visitors took the lead in the 17th minute through Raphinha.
Steve Bruce’s men livened up much more in the second-half with a front-foot approach and equalised just before the hour mark with Miguel Almiron, who roamed into the penalty area to finish off a clever move.
Leeds regained the lead though and took the three points with an eye-catching winning goal from Jack Harrison.

It was yet another poor result for Newcastle, albeit with a slightly more impressive performance in the second period.
A selection of their supporters on social media gave huge credit to Schar for his contribution during the 90 minutes.
The 29-year-old Swiss centre-back produced some memorable driving runs forward from defence and looked to get his team playing forward with his range of passing.
One fan joked it reminded him of ex-Newcastle favourite Hatem Ben Arfa.
