Newcastle United ended a two-game losing streak on Friday night by winning away at Crystal Palace in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter applauded their striker Callum Wilson for his performance.
The Magpies secured a 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park against Palace, as they scored two quick-fire goals in the closing stages to snatch three points on the road.
Wilson broke the deadlock in the 88th minute with a composed finish inside the box one-on-one with the goalkeeper, plus there was even a rare goal for fellow attacker Joelinton two minutes later with a deflected shot.
Steve Bruce’s side moved into the top half of the table with the result and have a solid return of 14 points from their opening 10 league games.

Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow has very much been the team’s star performer in several games this season, but a selection of the club’s supporters gave outfield star Wilson big praise for his display last night.
Wilson made a big impression on a return to the side with his goal and assist, giving the team that clinical touch they so often lack in the final third.
The 28-year-old battled all game against a stubborn Palace side and was finally rewarded for his efforts late on.
He’s now scored seven goals in just 10 games across all competitions since his move to St James’ Park in the summer from Bournemouth and appears to be loving life right now.
