Newcastle United go into the international break on the back of a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were raving about the performance of Allan Saint-Maximin.
The Magpies once again saw their defenders come good in an attacking sense, as DeAndre Yedlin and Ciaran Clark were on the scoresheet in Saturday’s Premier League win.
Steve Bruce’s team recorded a second consecutive win in the league and it’s really eased fear of as a relegation battle, with the club currently sat 11th in the table.
Newcastle travel to Aston Villa on 25 October when domestic football returns and the break may be coming at a bad time for them.
A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media picked out Saint-Maximin for special credit for his efforts in the win at St James’ Park.
The rapid winger has played in eight senior games across all competitions this season and is yet to score his first Newcastle goal, but he’s given a real injection of quality in the final third.
He’s a speed machine that has formed an exciting trio that can rip through defences with pace and trickery, with the Frenchman at the heart of the success.
Saint-Maximin, 22, showed his great form against Bournemouth with his direct running and he desperately just needs a goal.
Here are some Newcastle fans on Saint-Maximin:

Saint-Maximin tearing up defences. Love players that get the fans on the edge of their seat. If he can add goals to his game then he will be deadly! #NUFC

Saint-Maximin feels like that unpredictable yet exciting element we’ve been missing since Ben Arfa was at the club. The lack of goals aside, his ability to draw attention to himself opens up the pitch for our other players. Big reason why we are on a decent run now. #nufc

Allan Saint-Maximin is a very special player. So technically gifted. Just needs to work on his end product and composure.
He’s young and will learn. #nufc
