Allan Saint-Maximin scored the winning goal against Southampton in Saturday’s Premier League fixture – and some of the Newcastle United fans on Twitter raved about his performance.
The Magpies secured a 1-0 away win at St Mary’s in the league and they now sit eight points above the relegation positions in 13th.
Saint-Maximin scored the only goal of the contest with his low finish in the 79th minute and injected some real quality in the final third.
The 22-year-old left-winger looked a threat during the contest with his pace and some crosses into the box, plus he popped up with the late winner.
Steve Bruce’s team where playing against a 10-man Southampton when they had Moussa Djenepo shown a straight red card for a challenge on Isaac Hayden, with a VAR review overturning the decision from a yellow to a red.
Meanwhile, Matt Ritchie missed a penalty at the end of a first-half that Newcastle had played well in and they were made to grind it out in the second period.
