Newcastle fans on Twitter can't get enough of 'King' Saint-Maximin

Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin is a joy on and off the pitch.

The skillful Frenchman has an abundance of talent and Newcastle supporters will soon get to watch him go toe-to-toe with Cristiano Ronaldo.

In what will most likely be Ronaldo’s second debut for Manchester United on Saturday, the Portuguese forward will be facing Newcastle at Old Trafford.

Ahead of the meeting, Saint-Maximin spoke exclusively to Newcastle United TV.

The Frenchman talked about sharing a pitch with Ronaldo, scoring against Manchester United in the past and his performances so far this season.

After just three games, the 24-year-old already looks on his way to bettering his three goals and four assists from last season. He scored against Southampton last time out and set one up against West Ham.

Yet he will be hard-pressed to add to those figures this weekend.

Manchester United have picked up seven points out of nine this season compared to the one that Newcastle have.

They have also scored seven goals in the Premier League compared to Newcastle’s four.

This fixture last season finished 3-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford, although Saint-Maximin did get on the scoresheet in that game.

If the Frenchman can score again, and outdo his opposite number in Ronaldo, it would spoil the homecoming for the veteran 36-year-old in Manchester.

However, it would be the stuff of dreams for Steve Bruce, Saint-Maximin and Newcastle fans alike.

It has been a long time since the Magpies managed to come away with a league win from Old Trafford.

It hasn’t happened in six meetings between the sides in Manchester, with Newcastle’s last win coming in December 2013 (11v11).

Saint-Maximin will be desperate to change the narrative around this one, even if it will be a really tough ask.
