Newcastle United recored a 2-1 home win against West Brom on Saturday afternoon – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter applauded their striker Callum Wilson for his performance.
The Magpies secured another three points at St James’ Park, which is a result that lifted them up to 11th in the Premier League table.
Miguel Almiron put the Toon ahead within 20 seconds after a rapid start and he showed great composure with a left-footed finish, but 19th-placed West Brom did equalise early in the second-half with Darnell Furlong’s finish.
It looked like the game would be heading for a draw, but substitute and ex-West Brom loanee snatched a winner for Newcastle in the 82nd minute with his powerful header.
Steve Bruce’s side have 17 points from 11 league games so far to make it a strong start to the season.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media picked out Wilson for his display.
Despite not getting on the scoresheet himself, the 28-year-old gave his side a real presence in the final third and it’s no coincidence his return from injury has lead to back-to-back victories.
He was involved in Almiron’s opening goal by showing great strength in the build-up and he was up for a physical battle for the entire 90 minutes, something that is making him a huge favourite already following his arrival from Bournemouth.
