Salomon Rondon helped inspire Venezuela to a 3-1 victory over Argentina on Friday – and many of the Newcastle United fans on Twitter were raving about their player on Twitter for his performance.

Rondon opened the scoring with a brilliant half-volley, as Venezuela shocked their South American rivals by beating them in an international friendly in some style.

The 29-year-old has made a great impact at St James’ Park since he joined on loan last summer and showed what type of striker he is when lining up for his nation.

He’s scored 10 goals in 26 games across all competitions so far this season for Newcastle and many are keen for him to join on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

Rondon is a powerhouse centre-forward that is bullish in his approach and has the physicality to mix it with any defender.

But his composure around the penalty area and technical ability is very much underrated, which is why he’s been a main goal threat for Rafael Benitez’s team this campaign.

The attacker has five assists to his name in the Premier League to highlight how he brings his teammates into play

Here are some of the Newcastle fans on Twitter that were blown away by Rondon’s contribution on the internatonal stage:
