Newcastle United are reportedly considering Sheffield Wednesday boss Steve Bruce for their vacant managerial position – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are raging with the speculation.
According to Sky Sports, the Magpies are looking at the 58-year-old in their search for a new manager.
The report details that the North-East club want to appoint a successor to Rafael Benitez before they depart for the Asia Cup on Saturday.
Bruce is currently in charge of Championship club Wednesday, but is named as a potential target.
The Englishman is an experienced manager now in charge of his 10th different club and he previously had a two-year spell with Sunderland.
He’s proven himself as a specialist in promotion and gone up to the Championship from the Premier League on four different occasions.
But he has a win percentage of just 27.9 per cent in the top-flight as a manager.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media are pulling their hair out over the possibility of Bruce arriving at St James’ Park and are adamant he would be a poor appointment.
There is a huge cloud of anger surrounding the departure of Benitez and the club will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to find a decent replacement.
