Newcastle fans fed up as Steve Bruce confirms he won’t charge formation against Tottenham

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has confirmed it’s too early to be tinkering with the formation of the team – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are fuming with his comments.

The Magpies are currently preparing for a daunting trip to Tottenham on Sunday in the Premier League and are in search of their first points of the season.

Bruce has commenced his reign in charge at St James’ Park with successive league defeats, where he’s implemented a 3-5-2 formation.

They were narrowly beaten 1-0 at home by Arsenal on the opening day, but last weekend they suffered a crushing 3-1 away loss against newly-promoted Norwich City.

The 58-year-old manager has insisted ahead of the clash with Spurs that he won’t be mixing up his formation and needs to give it time.

“We may tinker a bit and change a couple of things. It’s too early to change formations,” Bruce said in his press conference, as cited by the Chronicle.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media are frustrated that Bruce won’t look into changing the set-up of his team.

Miguel Almiron and Joelinton have been the attacking duo starting in both league fixtures so far this campaign, but there is a real concern about where the goals are going to come from this seaason.

Ex-Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez found more success last year with a 3-4-3 formation, which is something that could be implemented if Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin where deployed in wide attacking area.

Here are some Newcastle fans responding to Bruce’s comments about the formation:
