Newcastle United are being linked with Premier League midfielder Mario Lemina – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have given an extremely positive response to the transfer speculation.
Lemina, who earns £40,000-a-week (Spotrac), has been fighting a Premier League relegation battle this season with Fulham, who he joined on loan from top-flight rivals Southampton last summer.
According to the Guardian, Newcastle are interested in a potential swoop for Lemina at the end of the campaign.
It is understood that he could be available to sign for as little as £7million, and West Ham are also keen on his signature due to his eye-catching displays at Craven Cottage this season.
The report explains that Fulham have the option to make his loan transfer with them a permanent one, but they are staring in the face of relegation.

A selection of Newcastle fans on social media believe that Southampton-owned ace Lemina is exactly the kind of player that could be a success at St James’ Park.
The 27-year-old has proven his quality in the Fulham XI this season with a string of impressive performances.
He’s an aggressive central midfielder that is defensively dependable and he’s a great tackler, as well as being someone who’s composed and confident with the ball at his feet.
The Gabon international would be great competition in the Magpies midfield alongside the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden and Sean Longstaff, plus his price tag looks extremely low.
