Newcastle United fans have been having their say on social media after reports this weekend linked them with Arsenal’s William Saliba.

The Frenchman is set to return from Nice and faces an uncertain future once again, in the short-term at least. Mikel Arteta must decided whether he wants to use Saliba, or, send him on loan once more.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Newcastle are keen. The Magpies are said to be interested, with a move for Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer looking less likely.

Saliba will want to prove himself at Premier League level. He did well in Ligue 1 last season with Nice. However, he knows Mikel Arteta has cast him aside before. Therefore, a move to Newcastle could be of interest.

The Toon Army have had good recent experience with Arsenal loanees. Joe Willock was hugely impressive last season, scoring 8 in 14.
