Newcastle fans criticise DeAndre Yedlin for performance against Oxford
DeAndre Yedlin returned to the Newcastle United XI to face Oxford United in the FA Cup – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were critical of his performance.
The Magpies were held to a 0-0 draw at St James Park by League One Oxford in the fourth round, which means the teams will play again in a cup replay at the Kassam Stadium.
Steve Bruce named a strong team for the Premier League outfit, but once again their lack of serious firepower in attack cost them and they failed to find a breakthrough.
Newcastle’s Brazilian striker Joelinton twice saw goals chalked off for offside, while midfielder Nail Bentaleb was handed a debut following his January arrival.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media were not pleased with Yedlin following his display against lower league opposition.
The 26-year-old right-back was back in the team following his recent injury absence and he failed to create too much when pushing forward.
His spot could now come under some pressure for the rest of the season, as Newcastle have signed full-back Valentino Lazaro on loan from Inter Milan and he comes highly rated in search of regular minutes.
Here are some Newcastle fans on Yedlin’s cup performance:
Oh I thought yedlin was hopeless today too, lazaro needs to be straight in for him. #NUFC
