Miguel Almiron completed 90 minutes in the dramatic win over Everton on Saturday – and many Newcastle United fans on Twitter were critical of his performance.

The Magpies earned a 3-2 home victory at St James’ Park in the Premier League, which means they have now picked up nine points from their last four games.

Everton found themselves with a two-goal lead at half-time courtesy of first-half strikes from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.

But the North East club fought back in the second period in dramatic, as attackers Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez (two) got on the scoresheet.

A selection of Newcastle fans on social media were not pleased with Almiron’s contribution despite the win.

The 25-year-old is still yet to score since he moved to the Premier League in January and supporters are desperate for him to do, but some of them did turn at the weekend.

Almiron did once again show glimpses of his pace and trickery despite not scoring, while his shot was too hot for goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to handle and Perez scored from the rebound.
