Newcastle fans at odds on social media over Darlow-Dubravka debate
Newcastle supporters appear to be at odds over the idea of Martin Dubravka reclaiming his starting berth from Karl Darlow.
The English stopper has featured in every Premier League game so far this season, with the Slovakian currently sidelined with a heel injury.

It was though Dubravka would have been back fit by now, but it was recently reported that he had suffered a setback in his recovery.
The Times claimed last month that Dubravka is now looking at a return to the picture in December, providing Darlow with an even greater chance to stake his claim.
In Dubravka’s absence, Darlow really has been in fine form, and is currently the goalkeeper with the most saves to his name.
He’s been very busy, but 30-year-old has hardly put a foot wrong for the Magpies, and is undoubtedly a key factorbehind the club’s current position of 11th.

His form has opened up a discussion on social media about whether or not Dubravka should be brought straight back into the side.
Before his injury, £38,000-a-week star Dubravka (Spotrac) had been one of Newcastle’s most consistent performers and was a big crowd favourite.
On Twitter, Newcastle supporters were debating whether Dubravka should be brought back in at the expense of the excellent Darlow:
nah darlow earned his spot

I hate the idea of losing your spot due to injury, but there’s no way they can drop Darlow here

Darlow has done well but Dubravka is our best goalkeeper

Real tough one, feels unfair to just bomb him out when Dubravka’s back, he knows hes back up, but he should atleast be phased out slowly

No chance.
Putting him straight back in, basically tells Dubravka that he’s the number 1 regardless of form or competition, which leads to complacency.
It also shows Darlow that no matter how well he plays, he’s essentially alway going to be back up.. terrible for morale.

The shirt is Darlow’s till his form drops. Dubs could play cup games.

i have a mixed opinion, yes, he was our number one and probably our best keeper, but the form darlow has been on recently is outstanding and it doesnt seen right to just chuck him out the team

I think as much of a brilliant keeper that dubravka is , I don’t think darlow should be dropped, he’s put in some top draw performances

When fit your number 1 keeper plays. He’s better than Darlow regardless of how darlow has played. KD knows he’s number 2. If Adrian had played well for Liverpool do you think Allison then sits on bench when he returned?

Such a great headache to have! Me personally I’d keep Darlow in for now
