Newcastle fans amazed by Martin Dubravka’s latest performance

Newcastle United recorded a win on the road against Sheffield United on Thursday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were blown away by the performance of their goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Steve Bruce’s team managed to secure a 2-0 away victory against the Blades at Bramall Lane, which lifted them to 11th in the Premier League table.

Allan Saint-Maximin opened the scoring in the first-half with a brilliant header to the top corner and it was his first goal for the Magpies.

Jonjo Shevley netted a decisive second in the 70th minute, but it was surrounded with great controversy.

An offside flag for Shelvey saw most of the players on the pitch stop in action, but the Newcastle midfielder played to the referee’s whistle and ended up stroking in a goal that was awarded by VAR.

Newcastle managed to stand firm defensively for three point and their backline was extremely resilient.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media felt that Dubravka needed special praise for his contribution against Sheffield United.

The 30-year-old was on top of his game to keep a clean sheet, with two noticeable blocks to deny striker Oli McBurnie.

He is a Slovakian shot-stopper that on his day can be spectacular and he will hope to keep up his recent form.
