Newcastle eyeing Harry Kane as club look to build an English spine
Newcastle are keeping tabs on Harry Kane ahead of January window.
The England captain is one of the best footballers in the world today.
He’d be a huge signing for the Geordies, although he won’t come cheap.
Tottenham were embroiled in a battle with Manchester City for the England captain but held firm in the end.
That means that Tottenham still have their star and brings upon these links with Newcastle.
According to Eurosport, the Magpies are eyeing up Kane as they look to strengthen their side and bring in an English spine.
The 28-year-old would be perfect for Newcastle and has been likened to Geordie hero Alan Shearer in the past.
Newcastle are keeping tabs on Harry Kane ahead of January window
Five years ago, Gary Lineker compared Kane to Shearer and listed many of his best attributes (The Times).
It seems that Kane would be absolutely perfect at St. James’ Park.
He could be the Shearer-like signing of 2021 in a bid for the Magpies to become a powerhouse of modern football.
The fans would need to see much more than just Kane coming into the club.
However, if the England skipper was to be signed then it would certainly be a wonderful start.
This isn’t the first ludicrously good player linked to Newcastle and it won’t be the last.
Whether Newcastle are able to act upon these transfer rumours any time soon, only time will tell.
Eventually money will be spent but whether it can happen to the rumoured extent as soon as this January and next summer is up in the air.
Either way, Tottenham won’t want to lose Kane and Newcastle will have to put a lot of money into poaching the England skipper to make it happen.
