Newcastle eyeing £52m Tottenham target who could be available at ‘discounted price’

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are just two of the clubs currently being linked with Federico Chiesa.

Tuttojuve recently claimed that the Magpies are obsessed about the Juventus star and want to sign him at all costs.

Meanwhile, CMW reported that Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs also really like the look of Chiesa.

It’s claimed that a fee in the region of £52million could tempt Juve into selling their key man to the likes of Newcastle or Tottenham.

Sport Mediaset has reiterated that the Magpies and Spurs are among the teams eyeing the 27-year-old, as well as Chelsea.

They have also claimed that time is not on Juve’s side, because Chiesa’s contract runs until the summer of 2025.

If they can’t tie him down to a new deal, they risk losing him for a ‘discounted price’ next summer.

Newcastle and Tottenham eyeing player with ‘Luis Suarez character’

Towards the end of October, Juve sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli reportedly met Chiesa’s agent Fali Ramadani in Milan.

It has been claimed that the Italy international currently earns €5million (£3.4million) per year and has no intention to lower it.

His salary ‘can rise’ if he were to move to a Premier League club, added the report. The financial incentive is certainly there regarding a potential move to Newcastle, Spurs or elsewhere in England.

Chiesa, who has been lauded as a ‘superstar‘ talent by some in the media, was part of the successful Euro 2020 squad that won the competition with Italy.

Joe Cole said at the time, as quoted by The Metro: “He’s hustling and bustling like a young Luis Suarez character. He can make something out of nothing.

“Every club in Europe will want a slice of him when he becomes available.”

The likes of Newcastle and Tottenham will no doubt be monitoring the situation closely. You can’t make the most of such an opportunity if it arises, as it may well do.
