Jamaal Lascelles will miss the festive period with the injury which forced him off in the first half of Newcastle’s 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.
As per the Sun, Lascelles has suffered a knee injury which a scan has shown will keep him out for a minimum of two months.
Lascelles has played every Premier League game for Newcastle and has become increasingly important for a side who struggle to score goals and need to be rock solid at the back.
With the fixtures mounting up, Steve Bruce needs his top players available and Lascelles certainly falls into that category.

TBR’s View – Newcastle have to start scoring to ease pressure on a defence which will be weaker for Lascelles’ injury
Steve Bruce has so far resoundingly failed to make Newcastle more threatening going forward which means he is relying on a defence put together expertly by his predecessor Rafa Benitez.
Lascelles is a major part of that and his absence will be keenly felt. That means that Bruce’s already urgent need to find an attacking plan and more goals has just become even more urgent.
He also needs leaders to step up in the absence of his captain at a time which could make or break his season.
