Newcastle United full-back Kieran Trippier celebrated making England’s squad for the 2022 World Cup today.
Gareth Southgate has named his 26-man squad for the tournament, and the Magpies star made the cut.
Trippier is one of three Newcastle players in the England squad, alongside Nick Pope and Callum Wilson.

It’s no surprise to see the 32-year-old defender make the cut.
He has consistently been one of Southgate’s favourites during his time in charge of England.
The Newcastle star was key at last year’s European Championships and at the 2018 World Cup.
Trippier has also become a huge fan favourite at St James’ Park.
The right-back was the first signing of the new era at Newcastle.
Trippier’s efforts have helped the Magpies stay up last season and go up to third this term.

Now, it’ll hopefully be third time lucky for him as he bids to end England’s many, many years of hurt.
After the squad was confirmed, Trippier took to his official Instagram account to express his delight.
Alongside many of his peers, Trippier also received congratulations from co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi.

With Reece James sidelined through injury, Trippier will be battling with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold for a starting spot at the World Cup.
